On Thursday the show will perform for the schools in the area before taking to the stage on Friday evening for their first full theatre performance in the country. The show will perform two shows on the Saturday and one final show on Sunday before returning to Ireland on Monday morning.

Ragús kicked off their 2009 tour in Nijmegen last night (29th September) with yet another standing ovation. This, according to the producers, is a sign of things to come over the coming weeks. Some of the venues have been sold out since the middle of the summer in anticipation of Ireland's biggest and best live show returning to the Netherlands. Featuring Ireland's top musicians, vocalists and dancers Dutch and Belgian audiences will be treated to the very best of Authentic traditional Irish Music, song and Dance over the next few weeks.

 During the same time "Ragús" will have a tour in Iceland and already we are receiving emails and comments from people who are awaiting the arrival of "Ragús" to their theatre as the scramble for tickets begins. It will be the show's first time to perform in Iceland and all of the cast are really looking forward to the trip.

A short break at home, and the troupe will jet off to Japan for a 5-week tour in the country's top venues, including 6 shows in the prestigious Tokyo Forum Hall.  Check back on our website soon for dates and venues of Ragús' third tour of Japan.

Ragús have returned to Ireland following yet another successful tour in Laughlin, Nevada. The Riverside Resort was enthralled by the all new show featuring a wealth of new Choreography, Music and Song that had the Riverside crowds on their feet at the end of each and every performance. This year Ragús were delighted to have been joined by guest vocalist Elaine Canning. Her breath taking rendition of Danny Boy, together with her other Irish favourites, captivated the audience night after night.

The show also featured multi-award winning fiddle player, Tara Breen. Tara comes from the county Clare and this was her first trip to the USA with the Ragús show. Together with Stephen Doherty (Flute / Bodhrán), Sean McCarthy (Uileann Pipes), Eimhin Liddy (Accordian) and Ronan Brennan (Guitar) the fully live and energetic music created by this band really brought a flavour of Ireland to the Riverside Resort for the days and weeks surrounding St. Patrick's Day.

Ragús would like to thank everybody involved in the tour from the performers, the technical crew, the staff at the Riverside and most importantly, the fantastic audiences that came to see the show night after night. We look forward to catching up with you all again in 2010 when we bring an even bigger and better show back to Nevada.

Ragús return to the Riverside Resort and Casino for another run this year. The successful touring show celebrated 10 years " on the road " in 2008 by putting on the most spectacular Irish music and dance show ever seen in Ireland featuring 45 live performing artists! Now into it's 11th year, Ragús continues to provide the best Live, Authentic, Irish Music & dance performed by Ireland's top musicians and dancers. With tours booked for 2009 in the USA, France, Holland, Belgium and Japan this promises to be another busy year for the Ragús troupe.

Ragús are delighted to be joined in Laughlin this year by vocalist Elaine Canning . Among her repertoire are the well known favourites, "Danny Boy" and "Song for Ireland".

The dance troupe will once again be led by Ronan Sherlock. The Dublin dancer will be joined by the beautiful Paula Goulding in the lead female roll and Danny Duggan from Cork.

The band this year again features some of Ireland's top musicians with a multitude of All-Ireland awards between them. The band features Eimhin Liddy from Co Clare on Accordian, Tara Breen, also from the Banner county on fiddle, Sean McCarthy from Cork on Uileann pipes and whistles, Stephen Doherty from Mayo on Flute and Bodhrán and Ronan Brennan from Donegal on guitar and backing vocals.

Ragús has added a whole new selection of music and dance to this years show and it promises to leave the Laughlin audiences with a "ragús" for more in the Riverside Resort & Casino.

RAGÚS - 10 YEAR CELEBRATION TOUR

Ragús returned to perform another sell-out tour in Holland and Belgium in 2008. In 2006 the show performed 6 shows, returned in '07 for a 3-week tour and have just completed a 5-week tour in Sept/Oct '08. This is a reflection of the success of the show in the area and each of the performers really enjoyed performing to the warm, friendly Dutch and Belgian audiences again this year.

Ragús was delighted to be joined on tour this year by vocalist, Deirdre Shannon (www.deirdreshannon.com). Deirdre has performed worldwide with Anúna, The Celtic Tenors and Lord of the Dance, with whom she is presently on tour. Her talent and versatility as a vocalist was clear to be seen and heard as she enthralled audiences with her versions of classic ballads such as "She Moved Through the Fair" and  "Song for Ireland" as well as contempory classics such as "I Wandered By a Brookside". Deirdre has many tours for 2009 but Ragús sincerely hopes to entice her to be a part of some of our 2009 tours if her hectic schedule allows?!!

The band was made up of Sean McCarthy (Pipes), Fergal Scahill (Fiddle/Bodhrán), Garry O Meara (Banjo/Mandolin), Ciaran Mulderrig (Keys), Ronan Brennan (Guitar/Voclas) and musical director and producer of Ragús, Fergal O Murchú ( Accordian/Vocals). The energy that this Live band create on stage was evident to all, as audiences were captivated night after night by their mesmerising talent, their energy and their enthusiasm for the traditional music  of their native homeland.

Add to that a troupe of 14 Dancers led by the beautiful Paula Goulding and the flamboyant Ronan Sherlock and audiences were certainly in for a "Unique Irish Experience". Ronan expertly guided and directed the Choreography of acclaimed choreographer, Michael Ryan, to ensure the audiences had something to clap and cheer about all night. 

Between the host of talented performers and the enthusiastic and warm audiences the atmosphere in each venue was akin to something between an Irish pub and a rock concert!!! A standing ovation at the end of each of the 28 performances confirming the audiences delight at what they had just experienced.

Ragús already had bookings to return to Holland/Belgium during the same touring period in 2009 before they had completed the '08 tour!!! Bookings include some of the existing venues in their present circuit as well as a host of new venues, and indeed other countries, looking to have the biggest LIVE show of traditional irish Music, Song and Dance perform in their Theatres.

Ragús have confirmed tours coming up in the USA, France, Belgium, Holland and Asia in '09 to name but a few. New dates will be added to the events section of the website in Jan '09.

Ragús celebrates 10 Years in 2008.

What a year 2008 was for the show which came to fantastic end with a spectacular show, in The Royal Theatre, Castlebar, to mark the show's 10 Years "on the road". Over 45 musicians, singers and dancers performed LIVE on the night to make Ragús the biggest LIVE show of Irish Music, Song and Dance ever to grace the stage.

The troupe had just returned from a 5-week sell-out tour in Europe and the performance was a fitting end to the extremely successful tour. The troupe were joined on the night by many special guests including Eimear Quinn, Mark Roberts, Seamus Brett, Aoibhinn Ní Shuilleabháin and Deirdre Shannon as well as many of the performers who have worked with the show throughout it's 10 year history.     (See our news/events section for more news on the European Tour and the Castlebar Event)

Internationally renowned musician and show director Fergal Ó Murchú has created an exceptional show for the Ragús 10th anniversary in Mayo.  There will be heart stopping rhythms and mouthwatering foot movements as the invincible west of Ireland spirit is played out on stage.
