Latest News Ragús - Summer in Dublin

We are delighted to announce that Ragús The Show will be returning to Dublin for the summer! The Show will be performing in the Burlington Hotel from 1st May - 3rd October 2011 (See www.burlingtonhotel.ie).
Having completed three summer runs, one in Dublin's Vicar Street and two consecutive years in the Olympia Theatre, the show has since spent the summer months touring throughout Europe, Asia and the U.S.A. There has been a big demand for the fully LIVE, authentic show to return to Dublin and summer 2011 will see this happen. With a cast of Ireland's top Musician's, Dancers and Vocalists the Ragús Show in the Burlington is a 'must see' in Dublin this summer. The Show has just returned from touring in Europe and following the summer run they will be back on the road until the end of March 2012 with further tours throughout Europe and Asia. The dates and venues for our Holland / Belgium tour have been added to our 'Events' section of the website. Sorry about the delay in getting them up there - it's been a busy summer and it looks as if 2012 is set to be an even busier year for Ragús the Show!!!

We have kicked off our Summer Season in the Burlington Hotel and we are settling in nicely in one of Dublin's most famous hotels. FOM Productions are delighted to announce that "Ragús the Show" returns to Holland / Belgium for a 6th time this year due to popular demand. The tour sees us revisit many theatres and cities, that have become a "home away from home" for Ragús over the last few years, as well as many new venues. See our events section for Venues and times. Ragús are delighted to be joined on the tour this year by vocalist sensation Hayley Griffiths. Hayley is no stranger to the big stage having performed with "Lord of the Dance" and "Riverdance" but she is really excited at the prospect of performing with a fully Live Show as she Joins "Ragús" for both the Holland / Belgium and China Tours. Hayley has recently released her debut solo album, "Silver Screen" and it has received critical acclaim both at home and abroad. The quality of her voice is complimented by her stunning looks, captivating stage presence and endearing personality. FOM Productions, producers of "Ragús the Show", were delighted to learn that the flame-haired beauty would be available to tour with them as part of their busy winter touring schedule. Together with a 6-piece live band Hayley's diverse vocal talent is sure to delight the audiences from Amsterdam to the Beijing and everywhere in between! Meanwhile, choreographer Michael Ryan has been putting the Dance troupe through their paces with some exciting new choreography, set to get it's first airing during this years tour in Holland / Belgium. Once again, the troupe will be fronted by World Champion, Ronan Sherlock, who will this year be joined by fellow world champion, Liam Tighe and Jason Hynan. Last but not least, the beautiful Paula Goulding will lead a troupe of Ireland's best (and most beautiful!!!) dancers. Multi All-Ireland winner, Fergal O Murchú (accordion / vocals), will once again lead a band of Ireland's finest musicians featuring Stephen Doherty (Flute / Guitar), Ciaran "Price among Pianists" Mulderrig (Piano / Keys), Garry O Meara (Banjo / Mandolin), Eamonn Galldubh (Uileann Pipes / Flute) and the multi-instrumentalist Fergal Scahill (Fiddle / Bodhrán / Guitar). Eamonn Galldubh will be known to many in the audience as he has toured the region many times with Moya Brennan and Clannad as well as being the featured Uileann piper with Riverdance and Celtic Women. Eamonn has toured with "Ragús" for many years and we are delighted that once again he will be with us for the winter touring season. The show is looking forward to returning for it's "annual" visit to Holland and Belgium in September / October and to meeting up with new friends as well as many of the friends we have made in the region over the last few years of touring there. The Winter touring season has kicked in and, once again, Ragús, Ireland's biggest LIVE Irish Music and Dance Show has a busy few months ahead. At the moment the troupe are in rehearsals and next week sees them fly to Amsterdam to embark on a three week tour of Holland / Belgium. Following that the troupe will fly straight to China on what promises to be a fantastic tour in the area. There is big excitement about the arrival of the show to China and we have been receiving email contacts from excited fans of the show since the tour was announced back in early Spring.Dates and venues will be available in our news/events section soon.

Ragús are all set for their return tour to Japan and this year promises to be bigger and better than ever before. Their 5-week tour begins on the 19th November with the first of 6 Shows in the Tokyo Forum Hall. Dates and times for all venues will be posted on our website in the next few days.

This Wednesday will see the cast of Ragús jet off to Iceland for a short tour. The venue for the shows is:
Salurinn, Kópavogur, Iceland http://irland.kopavogur.is/?s=dans On Thursday the show will perform for the schools in the area before taking to the stage on Friday evening for their first full theatre performance in the country. Ragús kicked off their 2009 tour in Nijmegen last night (29th September) with yet another standing ovation. This, according to the producers, is a sign of things to come over the coming weeks. Some of the venues have been sold out since the middle of the summer in anticipation of Ireland's biggest and best live show returning to the Netherlands. Featuring Ireland's top musicians, vocalists and dancers Dutch and Belgian audiences will be treated to the very best of Authentic traditional Irish Music, song and Dance over the next few weeks. During the same time "Ragús" will have a tour in Iceland and already we are receiving emails and comments from people who are awaiting the arrival of "Ragús" to their theatre as the scramble for tickets begins. It will be the show's first time to perform in Iceland and all of the cast are really looking forward to the trip. A short break at home, and the troupe will jet off to Japan for a 5-week tour in the country's top venues, including 6 shows in the prestigious Tokyo Forum Hall.
