The Gaelic word 'Ragús' (pronounced rah-goose) means 'urge' or 'desire'. Exactly the feeling our brilliant company of musicians, singers and dancers continue to create on stage for audiences all over the world.
Inspired by the islanders of Inis Mór, Ragús is a show of Live, fast moving, traditional Irish music, song and dance. Evocative of times past, audiences feel the pulse of a rich and vibrant musical heritage and come away with a truly enjoyable and unique cultural experience.
You'll be moved by the haunting airs from the 'sean nós' traditions of Connemara and the Aran Islands as they are interwoven with lively tunes and rhythmic dancing to create a truly memorable experience.
This year sees Ragús celebrate it's 10th year in existence. From humble beginnings in Halla Ronan on Inis Mór, Ragús has grown from strength to strength and now sees its touring entourage of up to 30 people in demand on every continent of the world. The last three years alone have seen Ragús perform in Australia, The USA , Japan, South Africa and throughout Europe.
Extensive tour dates are already confirmed for 2008/09 in the USA, China, Japan, France, Belgium and Holland – to name but a few.
This outstandingly powerful show is not to be missed, as our fans around the world will tell you. It is the essential Irish experience.
